Hi,
Currently I have two accounts one I have as miner who does mining(belive it or not ) and the other account is my PvPer who atm does the hauling for the miner, he has industry 1 for now to do this.( I currently training learning skills and what I need for now).
I thought it would be a good idea to make my PvPer into a hauler as his attributes are geared towards it(i.e. higher perception and willpower) and it allows me to do non stop mining.
I want to specalise in mining and eventually get a Hulk ( I know a long way and i'm following Halada's guide atm, and its a great help to.) BUT I also want to get into manufacturing as from what I have seen it will be interesting to me and is a viable and sustainable sorce of income if done right.
Now heres my problem(or not). Is it possible to or better to have the manufacturing char and the mining char as one ? like as follows : -
a) Have my mining char as a manufacturing char aswell or
b) make another char max the intell and memory to the highest it can go and the make this the manufacturing char ?
On a side note I dont want to join a corp just yet as I have just applied some implants and want to reduce the risk of getting popped untill I have made some progress with my skills (2-3 months ?) after that I wont care too much and ill try find a corp where I will be usefull.
Any advise I get will be greatfully recieved and any new/fresh ideas would be fantastic

Originally by: Letouk Mernel Yes, it's possible to have a miner/manufacturer/hauler/trader, and a combat/agent missions/hauling character. You don't need to max the industrial skill on both, but a lot of people pick up industrials because they're good to have.
You could also try to get Research going on the industry char, but you'll have to do hauling missions to build up the faction to talk to the research agents. Most people raise their faction via combat missions, but I suppose you could do it with hauling missions too.
Yea the PvP char I want to be more or less 'pure' PVP with a hauling side to him( I know a bit of a contradiction but I imagine this will only be a small side step in the scheme of things).
As for my industrialist what I really want to know is it better to have the miner and the manufacturer seperate or is it more usefull to have it all rolled into one or is it better to have it seperate. When I say usefull I don't mean as in save r/l money on accounts im talking from a purley gaming point of view ? tyvm
P.s. is Reasearch for and only for the Tech 2 lottery BPO's ?

Edited by: Mayoz Miner on 16/01/2007 00:43:36 This is exactly what i was looking for . Right so im going to make my miner then add a manufacturing side to him and I have my hauler on the PVP char.
A little advise on trading skills if anyone can help, I imagine as I don't want to be a 'super galactic trader' and all i want to do is try to minimise costs and make it a bit easier to trade that I can add these to the miner to so,
For my trading skills which will be basic( i'm looking to minimise costs from brokers fee's and anything else that takes ISK away from me and maybe be able to make trading easier for me i.e. more trades can trade w/o changing station ect). ]How much SP am I talking in trading skills here ?
If anyone got an idea ? tyvm for your time.

Originally by: Vasiliyan Mining barges require Industry V, so it makes sense to have your mining and manufacturing on the same character. Also, production only really needs Production Efficiency V, which you can get from scratch in about 3 weeks, then you don't need any more industrial skills unless you want certain specialisations.
Did you get a post-revelations mining character who has lots of refining skills?
No i'm afraid I was PRE-Revelations, but I aint to fussed was just a bad time to join, maybe.

It costs very little. It helps your logistics enormously.
thx. I was just wondering what you mean by this, atm I don't see how I would benefit of going solo corp style ? please could you elaborate if you have time thx again.
P.S. I know there are HUGE advantages of joining a player corp but I have stated the reasons why i'm delaying this for now. Joining a good corp will be major objective when the time is right for me.
